More than 30,000 police personal have been deployed on security duty in Mumbai for the Maharashtra assembly elections to be held on Wednesday, officials said. Elaborate arrangements have been made to maintain law and order and ensure smooth conduct of the elections,

Preventive action has been taken against 4,492 people ahead of tomorrow's vote in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, according to the Mumbai police.

Responding to the directives issued by the state election commission (SEC), 154 out of the 201 arms holders in the MBVV police Commissionerate jurisdiction have deposited their licensed weapons at their respective police stations after the model code of conduct came into force in the state on 15, October for the assembly elections.

This force includes riot-control teams, home guards, and specialized units to manage potential disturbances and ensure voter safety across the city.
