Snow Summit has been a staple of outdoor adventure in Southern California since 1952, offering the best snow conditions & longest season thanks to its extensive snowmaking system capable of covering all developed terrain without any natural snowfall, conditions permitting. In addition to its superior snowmaking capabilities, Snow Summit was also the first location on the West Coast to build a permanent in-ground halfpipe in 1983 and served as host venue for the inaugural Winter X Games in 1997.

We would like to plan a visit In early February of 2020. We cannot get a straight answer about the tire chains! If we have a rental (rental companies do not provide you with tire chains) we will get a 4WD but at what point will we be stopped and told you need chains on your tires and if we don't have them how will we get to resort or lodging and DO THEY have shuttles to run up to ski area? We don't want to get stuck. we will be coming from Southern California (Long Beach) yes its about a 2 hour drive. Thanks in advance
